Melisse is a plant which has a strong lemon fragrance. Melisse mainly grows in Southern Europe but can perfectly be bred in Holland because during winter this herb can live on due to its strong roots.
Melisse is a perfect remedy against muggets. Muggets possess an excellent olfactory organ and have an aversion to lemon odour.
Salicornia sp. belongs to the family of the Chenopodiaceae (Amaranthaceae) A plant family that holds among it vegetables like spinach, beet. The young green tips are harvested in a very young stage. That's why we call them sometimes sea asparagus. Besides salts (sodium, potassium and calcium) Salicornia accumulates a lot of minor elements (Iron, Iodium, Cupper...) Fresh Salicornia can be eaten raw or quickly fried . The vegetable fits well with fish dishes.
